Practicing Thinking Routines: See, Think, Wonder...
I see two children gazing at the night sky while a woman makes the bed inside the house. The children have medium length brown hair. Both are wearing similar outfits, flower patterned tops, with Capri pants, one outfit is mostly blue while the other is mostly red. They both have sandals on. The woman is wearing a lovely yellow dress with orange patterns that seem to be made of flowers and an apron. Inside the house you can see part of a dresser and part of a picture frame. A cross hangs on the wall, framed by some sort of adornment. The simple metal bed frame with crisp white linings sits atop hardwood floors. The window is framed by baby blue curtains. I see a full moon, one star, and pillowing clouds. I see beautiful yellow flowers, two trees, tall grass, and a small flowering bush that grow right next to the white siding of the house.I think the two girls are sisters and the women is their mother. I believe the house is their home. I think they snuck out of their home while their mother finished cleaning up after dinner so that they could admire the glowing full moon. I think the room we see belongs to the girls and their mother makes their bed unknowingly, maybe thinking they are out by the front porch. I think they are a Latino family. I wonder if their mother knows that her daughters snuck out and climbed up to the roof top. I wonder if their father is home, if he is working, or if the women is a single mother. I wonder if the girls are finding faces on the moon made out of the craters that cover it or if they just learned about the first man on the moon and are trying to make out the faded American Flag that he left there.
